Kevin Steeves, Director

Kevin was appointed the first director of EIN in June 2017. At EIN, he leads the office in Strasbourg and directs EIN’s organisational development and implementation of the annual programme of activities. Before joining EIN, Kevin was head of the Director’s Office at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London. He also worked a number of years for international organisations, including as special assistant to the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Rule of Law and Security Institutions; and as political affairs adviser to the Head of the OSCE Mission to Croatia. While on special leave from the UN, he was a fellow on justice and security at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael in The Hague. Kevin holds a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, an MA from Central European University, and a Master of Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy / University of Vienna.

Ramute Remezaite, Consultant

Ramute joined EIN in 2015 as a part-time consultant to help develop EIN's programmatic work with a particular focus on its advocacy, capacity building and networking programmes. Ramute is a PhD Candidate at the School of Law, Middlesex University, researching compliance with judgments of the European Court of Human Rights in new member States of the Council of Europe. She also works as a Legal Consultant at the European Human Rights Advocacy Centre, which litigates cases to the European Court of Human Rights from the former Soviet Union region.
